DHAKA, Bangladesh Argentina's World Cup-winning football team, led by Lionel Messi, has expressed interest in playing a match in Bangladesh in June, according to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Kazi Salahuddin on Tuesday.
"Argentina expressed an interest in visiting Bangladesh during the FIFA window in June 2023," he told the media.
Salahuddin stated that the tournament would be held at the capital's Bangabandhu Stadium.
He added that the National Sports Council has already agreed to carry out the necessary renovations.
However, which team will play alongside Argentina has not yet been determined.
"After talking with their coach, Argentina will provide us with a list of countries, and we will choose one," the BFF president said.
Last year, Lionel Messi ruled supreme in Qatar as Argentina won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, defeating France in the final.
