KATHMANDU, Nepal - Three Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) board members have reported that the corporation's employees had barred them from participating in board meetings.
NAC Managing Director Dim Prasad Poudel and two board members, Iswari Paudel and Fur Gelje Sherpa, alleged in a letter to the Executive Chairman of the flag carrier, Ubaraj Adhikari, that NAC personnel have been acting under his direction.
Three board members voiced various issues in the letter about the ideas to be reviewed at the board meeting on Saturday, including the number of proposals.
"Three more suggestions had been added to the previous meeting's agenda, bringing the total number of proposals to 28.
Why are there so many suggestions squeezed into one meeting? What's the rush to have them approved?
How come some board members are prevented from attending the meeting when such crucial matters are being discussed?" they had questioned.
Among the issues the three board members expressed were their concerns about continuing to fly the China-made planes after repairs.
Several investigations have determined that its operation is financially unsustainable, and the Ministry of Finance has already requested that the aircraft be sold.
