TEHRAN, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed his country's "all-out support" for the peace process in Afghanistan, official IRNA news agency reported Saturday.
Zarif made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Mohammad Hanif Atmar.
The Iranian foreign minister highlighted Afghanistan's democratic achievements over the past two decades, announcing Tehran's "all-out support for the Afghan peace process."
For his part, Atmar expressed satisfaction with the expanding of relations between Iran and Afghanistan and appreciated Iran's role in Afghanistan's peace process.
Both called for accelerating the signing of a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Turkey will host a conference on Afghanistan's peace process in Istanbul from April 24 to May 4.
